In a Health Care environment a patient may encounter dozens of professionals, from a whole range of varied disciplines, in a short space of time. In theory they should all combine together to provide the best outcome but all too often confusions and problems arise.
This short video introduces a programme thats used to train all health and social care professionals in the University of Leicesters local region. The focus of this programme is on helping trainees to work alongside one another in multidisciplinary teams its not enough simply to know what each type of specialist does, they need to be able to work together in allsorts of combinations and in allsorts of environments and situations.
This video visits Leicester Royal Infirmary, Northampton General Hospital, Prince Philip House, Mistrys Pharmacy in Market Harborough and Beaumont Leys and Stocking Farm Sure Start, to look at examples of effective inter-professional working and how the implementation of this approach can improve the outcomes for Healthcare service users.
The video was produced by University of Leicester ITS Multimedia Services and is a joint initiative between The University of Northampton, De Montfort University, the NHS Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Rutland Workforce Development Confederation and the University of Leicester.

Teamwork is all about hiding mistakes. What about the ones they cover up before writing their reports? Thanks to the NHS they relieved the pain mu aunty was in by hitting her head behind her left ear leaving a 1 cm deep wound that was 2 cm long. She was 84 years old in a ward with 4 other people but no one witnessed it. Clever are they? It killed her -No Pain NOT CLASSED AS A PATIENT just covered up Why has no one from the NHS even answered my accusations????????? Where did you say the police are?
You need to take the music out! I just want to dance, I've hardly listened to a word and I'm three minutes in!
Can't believe I am paying $30,000 for a school that uses youtube as a teaching tool. This isn't even in America.
I agree!
